ZEWA Non-Contact Infrared Forehead Thermometer

Returning to the workplace during the COVID-19 lockdown came with new guidelines and restrictions. Some businesses such as doctor’s offices, stores and other establishments have designated employees to check the temperature of each person entering the building.

When it comes to keeping your workplace and job sites safe during this time, consider purchasing the ZEWA Non-Contact Infrared Forehead Thermometer (NCIT) at all Carmichael’s locations in Crowley, Lafayette and Lake Charles, Louisiana. This infrared forehead thermometer is convenient and uses innovative technology. It can quickly screen your employees and visitors for a fever by measuring body temperature based on the infrared energy emitted from the forehead.

ZEWA’s thermometer provides professional accuracy with non-touch forehead measurement and 1-second readings for all ages. Users can get measurement results quickly by positioning the device’s probe at the forehead of the person screened. It also has a smart fever alarm that alerts users of high temperature readings.

The device has a memory recall function that saves the last 20 readings, measures in Celsius and Fahrenheit, and features a three-color backlight LCD display that shows if a reading is in the normal range, nearing a fever, or at fever level. It requires two AAA batteries and comes with a storage case and an owner’s manual. To ensure safety, the thermometer has an auto shut-off feature and is water resistant and BPA and latex free. It also has a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty on parts and labor and is easy to clean and disinfect.

Proper Use of a NCIT

A non-contact infrared thermometer (NCIT) may be used to reduce cross-contamination risk and reduce the risk of spreading disease. “Normal” body temperature is generally accepted to be 98.6°F (37.0°C) but can range from 97°F (36.1°C) to 99°F (37.2°C). It is important to understand how to use a NCIT properly because improper use may lead to inaccurate measurements of temperature.

The environment that a NCIT is used in and the positioning of the device on the forehead may affect the measurement. The person using the thermometer also should follow the manufacturer’s guidelines and instructions for correct measurement distance. Keep the NCIT out of direct sunlight or near heat sources and place it in the testing location for 10-30 minutes prior to use to allow to adjust to the environment.

When taking a temperature measurement with a NCIT, the user should ensure that the test area of the person’s forehead is clean, dry and unblocked. Hold the NCIT sensing area upright and instruct the person to remain stationary during measurement. Maintain the suggested distance in the manufacturer’s instructions, between the NCIT and forehead. Excessive clothing and a head cover also may affect a person’s body temperature or forehead temperature at the test area. Do not touch the sensing area of the NCIT, clean it between uses and follow cleaning and disinfecting instructions in the product manual.
