Low Back Pain
It’s common for most male and female adults to experience low back pain at some point in their lifetimes. The pain can range in intensity from a dull, constant ache to a sudden, sharp sensation. Most low back pain is short term and lasts a few days to several weeks. This type of acute low back pain results from injury to the muscles, ligaments, joints, or discs. It tends to resolve on its own with self-care. Pain that lasts for 12 weeks or longer is known as chronic low back pain and should be checked out by a health care professional. Some common causes of low back pain are:
- Accidents
- Lifting a heavy object
- Improperly lifting an object
- Overstretching during exercise
- Poor posture over time
- Sports
